It was the Dale Crispin and Kyle White show Saturday at Donaldson Field as Bishop Fenwick defeated Archbishop Williams, 35-14.”They both had a great game,” Fenwick coach David Woods said. “They’re definitely two seniors who played great in a game that we needed our seniors to step up for.”Unfortunately for the Crusaders, any shot they had of grabbing a share of the Catholic Central League/Large title was dashed when Arlington Catholic traveled to Austin Prep and came away with a 20-14 squeaker of a win.AC has completed the Catholic Central/Large run without a loss (it plays Arlington on Thanksgiving). Had Austin Prep managed a win, a Fenwick victory over the Cougars on Thanksgiving would have created a three-way tie for the league title.”I know the seniors were hoping to be in a league title hunt come Thanksgiving,” Woods said. “They came pretty close. We’re 3-1 in the league, fighting for second place. We had a ton of injuries. The same thing that happened to every team happened to us.”Against Williams, Fenwick (5-5) started early and stayed late. The Crusaders shot out to a 21-8 lead by the third quarter, and then finished with flourish with two TDs by White – one a 21-yard run and the other a 48-yard punt return.Crispin scored two touchdowns as well, one on a 10-yard run and the other on a 92-yard kick return as the Crusaders’ special teams stood out.”Overall, the seniors have been tremendous,” Woods said. “If we can win (against Austin Prep) on Thanksgiving and end up 4-1 in the league, I’m sure the seniors will be very happy.”
