The St. Mary’s boys soccer team made it look easy against Catholic Central League rival Austin Prep Thursday at Manning Field.The Cougars (11-2) only have two losses, and they have St. Mary’s to thank for both. The Spartans won the second meeting between the two teams, 4-1.Freshman Nick Goglio got things going with 1:34 left in the first half when he headed in a ball off a direct kick by Eric Donaghy.Julian Yourawski scored the first of his two goals two minutes into the second half (Ralph Bertrand assist) and Donaghy accounted for No. 3 on a rocket from 25 yards out. Bertrand had the assist. Yourawski’s second goal came off a throw-in by Joe Gill. John Moore and Peter Louvaris anchored a solid defensive effort.The Spartans are 8-6-1.Fenwick 5, Marian 1At Fenwick, Pablo Sosa had a pair of goals and Andrew DiNuccio, Eric Moreno and Doug Garabedian added single goals to help the Crusaders improve to 7-5-1. Garabedian also had three assists and Moreno, DiNuccio and Sosa, one assist each. Fenwick needs three points out of its final three games to qualify for the state tournament.Tech 6, North Shore 0At Manning Field, the Tigers (6-8) are out of tournament contention, but that didn’t slow down the offense. Six different players scored, beginning with Richard Jones-Alas, who also had three assists; Goran Susa; Pedro Blas (goal, assist); Elmer Vincente; Yerlin Guevara; and Reggie Teah. Kevin DeLeon played well in net.Lynnfield 1, Newburyport 1At Newburyport, the Clippers took it to the Pioneers in the first half and went up 1-0 before Steve Knox got down to business. Knox scored with four minutes left in the game (Dan Kearney assist) to secure the tie. Lynnfield is 5-5-3.GIRLS SOCCERLynnfield 2, Newburyport 2At Lynnfield, Jamie Harris continues to get the job done for the Pioneers. The junior scored both Lynnfield goals, the first coming two minutes into the second half on a boot over the keeper’s head from 25 yards out. The second one came about five minutes later on a pass from Courtney Marsolais.Unfortunately for the Pioneers (9-1-2), Newburyport wasn’t prepared to throw in the towel. Last year’s Cape Ann League Large Player of the Year, Jillian Kinter, scored twice before the final whistle to salvage the tie. Harris was the CAL Small Player of the Year last year.Fenwick 11, Marian 0At Framingham, the Crusaders (7-4-1) had a field day, led by Emily Iuliano (3 goals, 1 assist) and Courtney Ryan (2 goals). Bianca Gallo had a goal and an assist, as did Sara Previte and Allie Stote. Kristin Verrette and Maura Doyle also scored and Kerry Acheson picked up an assist.
