LYNN – A serial burglar, his brother and a female accomplice were arraigned Monday after being caught red-handed with items stolen Thursday from a Cliff Street home, prosecutors said.Seth Barnes, 28, of 322 Patriots Road, Templeton and formerly of 11 Lyman St., Lynn, his brother Zeb Barnes, 30, of 50 Andrew St. #117, Lynn and Patricia Generazzo, 37, of 19 Fearless Ave. #2, Lynn, were arraigned in Lynn District Court on numerous charges, including breaking and entering and illegal possession of prescription pills and marijuana.Police have linked Seth Barnes to two other Lynn house breaks in the past six weeks. His arrest for breaking into an elderly man’s Woodlawn Street home and telling the victim he was a police officer was the subject of an Item article Aug. 19.The trio was caught at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday when Officer John R. White was on routine patrol and observed two men, later identified as the Barnes brothers, walking in heavy rain holding a flat screen television and a suitcase on Cliff Street, according to police.”It appeared out of the ordinary that someone would be carrying a flat screen TV in the rain,” White wrote in a police report.Further increasing the officer’s suspicion was that he recognized one of the men as resembling the photo of a breaking-and-entering suspect that was circulated in the Lynn police department’s internal crime bulletin, he wrote. The two suspects allegedly ran toward Richdale gas station when they saw White turn his car in their direction, police said. The officer followed them to the station and noticed the objects, including the TV, were discarded on the ground and one of the suspects was scaling a fence, according to police. The man on the fence was later identified as Zeb Barnes and was arrested after leading White on a brief foot chase into the woods across from 13 Cliff St., police said. Barnes allegedly hopped over two backyard fences before fleeing into the woods.Seth Barnes managed to get away for a while but was caught around 11 a.m. by Sgt. James Flynn, who said he recognized Barnes from the internal crime bulletin and was aware he had a warrant out for his arrest. The warrant charged Seth Barnes with burglarizing a Childs Street home on Aug. 11. Police allege Barnes pulled a safe from the wall, ransacked “the entire house” and sold most of the items to a local pawn shop, according to a police report. Both men allegedly struggled with officers when they were arrested. Seth Barnes allegedly caused Flynn to fall to the ground, while Zeb Barnes allegedly tried to break free of an officer inside the police station, causing the officer to discharge his pepper spray when he tried to bite the officer in the shoulder.Generazzo was arrested after a witness said her vehicle was parked near the crime scene. Police allegedly found a pill bottle inside her car that was labeled “21 Cliff St.,” which was the home of the break-in, police said. When police contacted the home owner, he told them that his flat screen television and several other items were stolen after a burglar broke through the basement window, police said. All three suspects stood before Judge Albert Conlon at their arraignments. Seth Barnes was ordered held without bail because he violated his terms of release from the previous case, Zeb Barnes was ordered held on $3,000 bail and Generazzo was released on personal recognizance. All are due back in court Oct. 28 for a pre-trial hearing.
