SALEM – A Superior Court judge Tuesday continued no cash bail for a Lynn felon allegedly caught with two loaded firearms and marijuana.James Blood, 25, of 11 Lynnfield St., #1, appeared for his arraignment, pleaded innocent to two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, carrying a firearm without a license having been previously convicted of three violent crimes and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana before Judge Howard J. Whitehead.Assistant District Attorney Michael A. Patten moved that Blood be held on no bail because he poses a danger to the community and should remain in jail pending the outcome of his trial.Whitehead scheduled a hearing for Oct. 3 on the issue.In the meantime, Blood remains held without bail at the Middleton Jail.Blood was arrested shortly before 2 a.m., on June 14 after Lynn Police officers Oren M. Wright and Paul Cotter responded to shots being fired at 11-13 Rantoul Ave.Police reportedly saw Blood walking to the rear of a driveway at the corner of the house where two guns, a .22 short semi-automatic Beretta pistol and a .380 semi-automatic Jennings revolver, were found and he was arrested.Blood also was apparently seen dropping a large plastic shopping bag in the area, which contained marijuana, police said.Because Blood previously was convicted of three violent crimes and drug offenses dating back to 2001, he faces a mandatory three-year prison term, if convicted.
