Marblehead and Saugus battled to a 1-1 tie Thursday in Northeastern Conference field hockey action at Saugus.Stephanie Brooks put the Magicians on top six minutes into the game on an unassisted goal. Saugus tied thing up with about 17 minutes left in the game on a goal by Angela DiPesa. Both teams had eight shots on net. The Magicians also had strong play from Lindsay Franklin and Courtney Maher.Swampscott 2, Danvers 1At Swampscott, the Falcons struck first on a goal by Taylor Cross midway through the first half. Five minutes later, Swampscott tied it up when Kaitlyn Englehardt nailed a corner kick and Kristin Santanello popped it in. The game was decided with just over a minute remaining. Taylor Maccario scored her first varsity goal with Courtney Fletcher getting the assist. Swampscott is 5-1-1. Danvers is 4-2-1, 3-2-1 Northeastern Conference.Peabody 3, Malden 0At Peabody, the Tanners (2-4-1) had goals by Mariah Wentworth, Kerrie O’Shea and Kellie Multner, and Rebecca Mullen kept things in check in net with 10 saves. Christina Simoes and Elise Coleman each had an assist and Simoes, Haley Saulnier and Morgan Yeo played well on defense.Fenwick 1, Notre Dame (Hingham) 0At Bishop Fenwick, Kelly Moran scored late in the second half to help the Crusaders (5-0) remain undefeated. Kara Gray had the assist while Jill Cardin did well on defense and Casey Landry held down the fort in net. Kara Charochak and Liz Sears also played well at right wing and left inner, respectively.
