LYNN – A man attempted to abduct a 16-year-old girl near Kiley Park shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The girl was walking down Burrill Avenue when a black male, with medium dark skin in his mid 20s to early 30s drove next to the girl in his blue newer-model Toyota, according to Lynn police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe.
Sharpe said witnesses confirmed the girl’s story that the man grabbed the girl and tried to force her into his car.
The girl got away unharmed and called police.
The suspect was also described as wearing a red baseball hat backward and was last seen driving toward Broad Street.
Initial police reports indicated the suspect might have a firearm, but Sharpe said he could not confirm that information late Tuesday afternoon.
