SALEM – Bill Bulloch, an athletic trainer at Salem State College for the last 32 years, died Monday at his home in Dover, N.H., after a long battle with cancer.After a brief stay at Bridgewater State College, where he was credited with starting the college’s athletic training program, Mr. Bulloch relocated to Salem, where he became a fixture in the SSC athletic department for more than 30 years. His years of dedication were recognized earlier this summer, when he was selected for induction into the SSC Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled for October.SSC Sports Information Director Tom Roundy said Mr. Bulloch’s friends and colleagues in the athletic department are devastated by the loss.Mr. Bulloch was a three-sport athlete at Tewksbury High School. He went on to receive his undergraduate degree in athletic training at Plymouth State College and then enrolled in Indiana University, where he received his master’s degree. He worked as an athletic training graduate assistant in the Hoosiers’ basketball program, which was coached by Hall of Famer Bobby Knight at the time.Mr. Bulloch was 58 years old. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bulloch, daughter, Krystal Glidden of Dover, and son, James Glidden, of Worcester.
