LYNN – The owner of a house that is in foreclosure was arrested Thursday after employees of the foreclosure company went to his home and found a cache of illegal firearms, police said.William Conserva, 39, of 21 Lawndale Ave., Stoneham and former owner of 749 Lynnfield St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with four counts of unlicensed firearm possession and possession of a class E drug shortly after 10:30 a.m.Police obtained a search warrant after the foreclosure employee noticed a rifle with a scope leaning against a bedroom wall, according to police. The weapon turned out to be a replica.When police entered the home, they say seven boxes of live ammunition were found on a bed, while hypodermic needles and illegal prescription drugs were found in boxes.Police later obtained a search warrant for a Brinks safe and allegedly discovered a .32 caliber Colt, a .38 caliber Colt and a .25 caliber Beretta.Conserva was also arrested in February 2005 after he failed to show up to court to face motor vehicle violations. He was living in Melrose at the time.
