LYNN – Police say a shooting on Vine Street capped a busy Monday night for police, which responded to several fights throughout the city in response to an earlier gang brawl.Officers responded to 43 Vine St. at about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday after someone fired several rounds at the house and a car parked outside, according to police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe.A man in the home called police after hearing several loud bangs and went outside to see bullet holes in his home and car, Sharpe said.No witnesses were found at the scene and no one was injured, according to police.Police say the shooting does not appear to be gang related, but it did end a night of beefs between gang members that started on nearby Neptune Street around 5 p.m. and left a 12-year-old boy injured. As the Item first reported Tuesday, the boy was hit in the head with a rock after his brother got into a large fight with gang members. The brother and the boy’s parents were frantic and screaming as the boy was being strapped to a stretcher, crying. The same people involved in the Neptune Street fight took part in another fight on Beacon Hill Avenue around 8:15 p.m., Sharpe confirmed. In both incidents, the participants were uncooperative, police said.Other fights were reported on High Rock Street and Allen Avenue at about the same time.
