The Daily ItemLYNN – The Friends of Lynn & Nahant Beach Summer Concert Series at Red Rock Park begins tonight from 7-9 p.m. with the Squeezebox Stompers.The concert will be followed by the Lynn/Swampscott fireworks.The Squeezebox Stompers will roll out their unique brand of Roadhouse Roots music, an eclectic mix of Cajun, Zydeco, blues, and country music heard. Their toe-tapping music is based in the roots of American folk accompanied by band originals steeped in these traditions. Their repertoire includes delta blues, Cajun waltzes, hoe-downs, and swamp ballads. The acoustic roots band uses an accordion, National steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass and drums,.Members of the band have distinguished themselves in the music industry. Ralph Tufo has received four Boston Music Awards and Larry Plitt was the 2007 winner of the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest.The concert series will continue every Thursday evening through Aug. 21. Upcoming concerts include the Brian Maes Band on July 10, 12:01 Blues Band on July 17, Lois Lane & the Daily Planets on July 24 and Curragh’s Fancy on July 31.The Billy McGhee Band will take the Red Rock Stage on Aug. 7 and White Lightnin’ is scheduled to perform on Aug. 14. The Brian Maes Band will close out the season on Aug. 21. All concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (except for tonight’s). Admission is free and refreshments will be sold.
