Several North Shore players turned in key performances for their respective teams at Endicott College over the weekend.Lynn Classical graduate Paula McGinn, a former three-sport star for the Rams, has concluded this season playing for an Endicott softball team that went 41-6, setting a school record for most wins in a single season. Endicott finished its season with a 3-1 loss to Cortland State at Cardinal Park in Plattsburgh (NY) on Sunday. The loss came in the NCAA Division 3 regional tournament championship, with Cortland State advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals.A day earlier, No. 2 Endicott had gone 1-1 in tourney play, falling to No. 4 Cortland State 4-1 before rebounding against St. John Fisher, 3-0. In the latter game, McGinn made a leaping catch with two out and a runner on second to end a St. John’s threat in the bottom of the second.Another local player on the Endicott team, Jackie Collier of Swampscott, pitched the final two innings of the 4-1 loss to Cortland State.In men’s lacrosse, Endicott captured its first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) title and set its own single-season school mark for victories (18). The Power Gulls achieved both feats with a 15-3 decision over Lasell in the ECAC New England Lacrosse championship game on Sunday. Eddie O’Reilly of Beverly and Brandon Dube of Danvers both had three goals for Endicott, which went 18-3 this year and finished with a top-15 national ranking.
