Freshman forward Jesse Wilkins was named Most Valuable Player at the Lynn Tech hockey team’s awards dinner this week.The end-of-the-year get-together was the final one for the Tigers because the team has been disbanded due to the low number of players who were actually from Tech. The team was in a cooperative arrangement with North Shore Tech and Essex Aggie. The Tech players will be allowed to skate with the Lynn Jets, the combined English-Classical team, next season.Coach Tim Serino, who had resigned the position prior to the program being cut, also gave awards to junior forward Michael Donovan, Team Spirit Tiger Award; freshman forward Derek LeBlanc, Rookie of the year; freshman forward Cameron Barbieri; senior forwards Ryan Gay and David Kosmos, Most Improved; junior goalie James Wall, Commonwealth Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award, and Brian Provost, a junior defenseman who was recognized as the team’s representative on the CAC All-Star team. The team also voted for Provost, Donovan and Wall to be captains for next year.
