Connor Ressel was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs for Gloucester.Peabody 4, Saugus 2At Peabody, a three run first inning proved to be more than enough for Marc Linehan and the Tanners (9-3). The Sachems cut their deficit in half at 4-2, but Peabody brought in closer Patrick Dumas, who pitched a one-two-three seventh.In the first, Peabody began its scoring with back- to-back RBI singles by Kevin Skop and James Noftle and added a third run on a wild pitch. In the second inning, the Tanners scored on an RBI single, which scored Josh Band.Linehan pitched six innings, allowing five hits while striking out seven and walking none.G’town 7, Lynnfield 6At Georgetown, the Pioneers led 3-0 after the first inning thanks to an RBI double by Dante Padovani and a 2-run homer by Phil Perriello, but it was a battle the rest of the way with Georgetown going up, 4-3, only to see Lynnfield tie in the fifth on a suicide squeeze by Matt Connolly. Georgetown scored three more in the bottom of the fifth, but Lynnfield got an RBI double by Mario Padovani and a pinch-hit single by Dan O’Donnell to cut the deficit to 7-6. Perriello (8 hits, 7 strikeouts) took the loss in a complete-game effort.Beverly 7, M’Head 3At Beverly, Jack Leathersich struck out a season-high 16 in a complete-game four-hitter.Due to a three-run Mike Sahagian homer, the Panthers (8-4) trailed 3-1 entering the fifth until a two-run single by Leathersich and a Paul Drinkwater three-run bomb gave Beverly the lead.S’scott 14, Revere 0At Revere, twelve runs in one game is atypical, but twelve runs with two outs in one inning may never happen again. The Big Blue (3-7) pounded out 16 hits, ten in the second inning, against the Patriots (0-12).
