The Saugus High girls tennis team survived close calls at third singles and first doubles to defeat Revere, 5-0, at Winchester Indoor Lawn and Tennis Center.Ashley Medeiros pulled out a three setter in the three spot, winning 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. At first doubles, Megan Joyce and Concetta Leo won 7-5, 7-5.Saugus also had wins from Emily Sanphy at first singles, 6-1, 7-5; Amara Georges at second singles, 6-0, 6-2, and Jess Spinale-Taryn Medeiros at second doubles, 6-1, 6-0. Saugus is 2-4.Austin Prep 4, Fenwick 1At Peabody, Lizzy Trainor won 6-2, 6-2, at third singles for the Crusaders (6-3) only point.In other action, the Marblehead-Peabody match was suspended with the Tanners up 2-0 with Marblehead leading 2-0 thanks to wins in both doubles matches.The match will resume on Thursday. Winthrop at Classical and Mt. St. Joseph’s at St. Mary’s were also suspended due to the rain. St. Mary’s is tentatively schedule to resume the match on Wednesday.
