LYNN – Federal law enforcement officials confirmed Tuesday that another member of the Deuce Boyz /Soldiers gang was sentenced in federal court for cocaine distribution.Orlando Vales, 21, of 1704 Broughton Drive, Beverly, was sentenced to five years and six months in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.Vales allegedly sold crack cocaine to an undercover witness during a six-month investigation.The Item reported Tuesday that Donald “Heavy” Oliver Jr., 23, of 85 Timson St., Lynn, who was named by the FBI as a leader of the gang alliance, was sentenced last week to 15 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.Christopher Gutierrez, 22, of Lynn, was expected to plead either his guilt or innocence Tuesday in federal court on armed robbery and weapons violations.Gutierrez and Nelson Sanchez, 19, of 35 Timson St., Lynn, allegedly robbed two undercover operatives at gunpoint during a drug deal orchestrated by Oliver on Lafayette Park in Lynn in March 2007. Sanchez was sentenced in January to 10 years in state prison.
