SAUGUS-Not to be confused with the Taste for Education, which is next month, the Taste for Nutrition has been postponed.Ellen Faiella, who has run the Taste for Nutrition for several years now, said it’s largely due to similarity in the names that is causing her to move the date for the smaller program.”We don’t want people to be confused,” she said.Plus the event also taps many of the same restaurants that participate in The Taste for Education. The Taste for Nutrition, sponsored by the Health Task Force, focuses on showing students how to make good choices. It includes area restaurants plus Chartwells, the School Department’s food provider, offering their wares to participants.Unlike the Taste for Education that takes place at the Danversport Yacht Club, the smaller event typically takes place in the high school gymnasium.Faiella said she thought hitting the businesses up for both events would be too much to ask, plus she said she didn’t want to see one dinner pulling participants away from the other.”They’re both too important, and this gives the businesses and people a little breather,” she said.Faiella said the Task Force will plan the Taste for Nutrition for the fall, moving it out of the spring line up of events permanently.”We just wanted to let people know it’s not cancelled,” she added. “We’ll probably have it in September then we can talk about healthy eating habits in the beginning of the year, right after summer.”
