REVERE – Police sorted out a chaotic scene Wednesday night on Revere Street that was ultimately the result of a love triangle, police said.Police rushed to the corner of Revere and Floyd streets at about 9:30 p.m. on a report of shots fired. However, officers quickly realized that was not the case.Officers learned from the victim that he was attacked by his girlfriend’s former fiancé.The victim said as he was operating his vehicle in traffic, the ex-fiance cut him off, blocking his path, then got out of the car and approached him on foot, according to police.Both men began exchanging blows, police said.The men then returned to their respective vehicles and the victim drove to his home on Revere Street, according to police.Shortly after he got to his house, he heard loud banging on the door and realized it was caused by the ex-fiance, police said.The victim ran out of the back door and was subsequently chased by a red Jeep Cherokee that had backed up from Revere Street onto Floyd Street, police said.The victim said the vehicle drove on the sidewalk in an attempt to run him over before he got away, according to police.Police later interviewed the victim’s mother, who allegedly saw the suspect’s brother damaging a vehicle belonging to the victim’s girlfriend.Police are seeking warrants against the suspects, according to Police Capt. Michael Murphy.Daniel J. Carobne, 21, of 106 Cecilian Ave., Revere, who happened to be in the area and was questioned by police during the incident, was arrested for violating the city’s knife ordinance for being in possession of a knife longer than 2.5 inches, but was not directly involved.
