LYNN – A lone thief robbed the St. Jean’s Credit Union at 527 Western Ave. Tuesday morning for the third time in six weeks, police said.At 9:33 a.m., a light skinned male in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-4, approached the teller while wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt over this head, police said.He handed the teller a note demanding money and left the building with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.”After the robbery, the suspect walked out of the bank towards Franklin Street. If anyone traveling through this busy area happened to observe a person fitting this description, please contact detectives,” Police Lt. Dave Brown said.A suspect with a similar physical description robbed the bank on March 5 and Feb. 7.Police said no weapons were observed in the robberies.Brown reminds citizens that it’s common for bank employees to ask customers to remove clothing that might cover their faces.”When thieves commit these robberies, they often attempt to hide their facial features by wearing hooded sweatshirts, hats and/or sunglasses,” Brown said. “We would like to remind bank customers that they may be requested by employees to respectfully remove these items. This is a very reasonable request, which could help deter and quickly solve future robberies.”
