LYNN-A Dorchester man with a troubled past was ordered held without bail Monday during his Lynn District Court arraignment on home invasion and assault charges.Jeffrey Banks, 34, of 14 Norwell St. #2, Dorchester, was arrested Friday afternoon, a short time after he got out of jail and allegedly assaulted the mother of his child and her new boyfriend inside an Oakwood Avenue home.According to a police report, Banks was released from a six-month jail sentence Feb. 4 and contacted the victim to rekindle their relationship. She made it clear that she didn’t want to get back together with him, police said.Despite the victim’s attempts to hide her current address from Banks, he allegedly tracked her down to the Oakwood Avenue home where she was staying with another man.After speaking with the man at the front door of the home, Banks allegedly shouted threats and forced the door open while holding a knife, slicing the man’s finger in the process.During the altercation, Banks allegedly punched his ex-girlfriend twice. She is now four months pregnant with another child.Lynn District Court records do not show why Banks was incarcerated, but indicate that he has a scar on his back from a gunshot wound.Banks was charged with home invasion, breaking and entering in the daytime while placing a person in fear, assault and battery on a pregnant woman, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery.Judge Albert Conlon ordered Banks back to court Thursday for a dangerousness hearing.
