MARBLEHEAD-The Marblehead Police Department has reinstated its scheduled car seat installation times.Community Services Officer Lt. Dave Millett has been an instructor with the program since 2000 is returning to “active duty.”As part of the department’s Community Policing Program, Millett will be joined by Det. Sean Brady, Officer Dave Ostrovitz and Dispatcher, Scott Kaufman in teaching and assisting parents, grandparents and caregivers in the art of properly inspecting, installing and using child car seats and boosters.”We are all delighted that this program is making a full comeback. With the numerous new styles and functions of car seats, it is little wonder why over 90 percent of them are improperly installed and used,” Millett said.To hear the schedule for help with your child car seats simply call 781-631-1212 ext. 606 but remember the schedule may suddenly change so it is best to call back on the day of your visit. This program is one of several safety programs that depend heavily on financial contributions.
