LYNN – A brazen afternoon robbery took place at Dunkin Donuts at 577 Walnut St. where an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.Michael Kane, 44, of 35 Carter Road, Lynnfield, and Daniel LeBlanc, 45, of 24 Second St., Amesbury, were arrested and charged with unarmed robbery around 12 p.m. Friday.According to store employees, the thief, later identified as Kane, was described as a white male, approximately 6’2 feet tall, with close cut dark brown hair, wearing a gray sweatshirt, sneakers, and dark colored sweatpants with white and dark colored stripes.In the store surveillance video, police observed Kane allegedly approach the counter, reach into the register draw when it was open, grab an undisclosed amount of cash and then run from the scene.Employees said Kane jumped into the passenger side of a dark colored pick up truck, operated by LeBlanc, with silver racks that was waiting on Sigourney Street and quickly fled the area.Officers quickly searched the area in search of the suspect’s vehicle and observed a pick up truck matching the description in the area of 609 Boston St. and pulled it over.The driver was identified as LeBlanc, and the passenger was identified as Kane.Both LeBlanc and Kane were searched for weapons and a large amount of cash was found in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.Kane was also charged with a Lynn District Court warrant for unarmed robbery in connection to the unarmed robbery of the CVS located at 102 Boston St. on March 13 around 12 a.m.During that incident, the suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’3 tall, short hair cut, muscular build, and approximately 40 years old.Similar to the robbery on Friday, Kane also allegedly approached the counter and when the clerk opened the register, he grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.At the time, officers conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate any suspects.However, during a follow up investigation conducted by Detectives David McEnaney and Stephen Pohle of the Lynn Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, they identified Kane as the suspect.A warrant was sought and granted in Lynn District Court for the arrest of Kane for unarmed robbery.
