LYNN – Police are investigating a chaotic series of events that climaxed early Sunday with a shooting and a robbery outside Soriano’s Bar on Market Street.At 1:14 a.m., police on patrol heard gunshots near the corner of Liberty and Market streets before rushing to the scene.Police were interviewing several patrons leaving the bar when they noticed a man jump into a Dodge Charger, which sped off on Tremont Street.Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the two passengers, who said that someone was shooting a gun and they were trying to get away, police said.Another group of officers spoke to a group of people standing around a Mercedes in the parking lot at the corner of Tremont and Market streets. There, a 34-year-old Boston man told police that a robbery had occurred.”A male approached. This person allegedly pointed a handgun into the car and robbed him of a gold chain,” Lynn police spokesperson Lt. Dave Brown said. “The suspect then fired several shots into the air before fleeing on foot toward Tremont Street.”The suspect was described as a black male about six feet tall. No arrests have been made.
