The Aborn finished off a week of promoting reading and literacy with a special guest reader day Thursday morning featuring appearances by Mayor Edward J. Clancy Jr. and Superintendent Nicholas Kostan, along with representatives from city government, the School Department and The Daily Item. Readers selected from a variety of grade-appropriate books from the school’s new library and sat with students to read stories and answer questions about the different roles that they play in the local community. Other events this week included an open house and tour of the growing library, along with a scholastic book fair where parents and students could purchase books to read on their own.
