LYNN-A Lynn man was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail Tuesday after he allegedly tried to strangle his pregnant girlfriend during a domestic dispute at her Shorey Avenue home.Stafford Goodman, 21, of 333 Chatham St. #8, Lynn, was arrested and charged with assault to murder, aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime on Monday.On Feb. 6, police responded to the girlfriend’s home to find her crying hysterically. The victim, who was seven months pregnant, said her boyfriend attacked her during an argument over drug transactions, police said.The victim said she had just moved into her Shorey Avenue apartment and got upset with Goodman because he allegedly sold marijuana to her landlord, police said.She told police she was angry because Goodman makes his money from selling crack cocaine and marijuana and doesn’t have a real job, according to police.During the argument, Goodman allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the throat with both hands and forced her down on the bed. He allegedly began squeezing her throat to the point where she couldn’t breathe and began feeling faint. He was also yelling expletives at the woman during the attack, police said.Police said red marks were observed on the victim’s throat shortly after the attack.Lynn District Court Judge Stacey Fortes-White ordered Goodman back to court March 25 for a probable cause hearing.
