The St. John’s Prep fencing team won its fourth straight state championship this weekend, outlasting both Bishop Feehan and Concord-Carlisle.St. John’s finished with 51 victories, to Feehan’s 44 and Concord-Carlisle’s 41.The entire epee team made the final, with Tucker Robinson Ness winning a silver medal, Rajesh Reddy a bronze, and Bryan Wallace placing sixth.In the sabres, captain Chris Pappas, a senior from Saugus, took a silver and Rick Barnes of Lynn won a bronze.In the foil, Julian Cardillo won a gold and Eric Olson was seventh.Cardillo finished the season undefeated – the first high school fencer to accomplish that feat since 2002. He had 62 victories.St. John’s other two fencers in sabre, Chris Bartus and Chris Adams, fell in the finals, both to Concord-Carlisle.
