LYNN-After pulling over a vehicle because its occupants were suspects in an armed assault a day earlier, Lynn police arrested four suspected gang members Monday for illegal possession of a handgun. One of the suspects, Amaury Severino, 18, of 39 Allen Ave., Lynn, was also arrested on Jan. 18 because he allegedly took part in “jumping out” a 20-year-old Lynn man who no longer wanted to be a member of the Soldiers gang ? a crew aligned with the infamous Bloods, according to authorities.Being jumped out of a gang is when several gang members all at once beat a member trying to leave the group, police say. The event is usually timed and can last anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes, depending on who the person is and his status with the gang. Severino was arrested for an alleged jump-out at the Cook Street Playground.Shortly before 2 a.m. Monday during the car stop, police arrested Severino and charged him with possession of a firearm without a Firearms Identification card, illegal possession of a stun gun and disguising oneself to obstruct justice for allegedly providing a false name to police.Michael Smith, 18, of 1 Stephen St. #2, Lynn, Omar Clarke, 19, of 24 Fernboro St. #2, Boston and Korey Dorsey, 18, a former Lynn resident who now lives in Colorado Springs, Colo., were also arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card.A police officer who was sitting in a parked cruiser at the corner of Broad and Newhall streets Monday conducted the traffic stop after realizing the vehicle and its license plate number matched the description of being involved in an assault that involved a handgun about 24 hours earlier, police said. The officer called for back-up units and they conducted a traffic stop on the Lynnway near Blossom Street a short time later. Smith was driving the vehicle, police said.During the traffic stop, police drew their guns because they were concerned that Dorsey, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, might be trying to conceal a gun.It turned out Dorsey was not carrying a weapon on his person, according to police. But officers later discovered a revolver in a back seat compartment, police said.Police also said officers found a stun gun in Severino’s pocket.Lynn District Court Judge Michael Lauranzano ordered all four suspects held without bail during their arraignments Monday.Severino and Clark are due back in court Friday morning for dangerousness hearings.Smith and Dorsey are expected in Somerville District Court on Feb. 8 and Feb. 15, respectively, for unrelated cases.Smith was also arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and unlicensed operation of a vehicle in Lynn in September, according to court records.Dorsey and Clark were arrested in July for larceny from a person and assault with a dangerous weapon.
