Friedman indicted for child porn

SALEM?A Swampscott man who allegedly had 1,000 child pornography images on his computer was one of five men indicted late Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Alexander Friedman, 32, who lives with his parents at 12 Priscilla Road, in Swampscott, stands charged with five counts of distribution of visual material of a nude child to detectives in Virginia and Swampscott on July 5 and Nov. 2, the date of his arrest.According to reports, Fridman had more than 1,000 child pornography images on four computers in his house and shared numerous sexual chats with a detective in Dumfries,Virginia, who was posing as a 13-year-old boy named David.Friedman, who is employed by Aurora Imaging MRI in Bedford, told authorities he had downloaded the images on all four computers at his home, as well as to his computer at work.The Virginia investigator identified Fridman, who went by the screen name Jr00t2007, by tracking his Internet address to an account held by his elderly mother, police said.The indictments handed up by the grand jury move the case from Lynn District Court where he pleaded not guilty to Salem Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.In the meantime, Friedman remains held at the Middleton Jail on $75,000 cash bail.Also indicted:Kyle Fuchs, 19, of 41 Richards St., Saugus, charged with two counts of rape of a child and two counts of exhibiting a child nude pertain to allegations on dates between April 1, 2006 and April 1, 2007 at Swampscott and Saugus.Prosecutors maintain that Fuchs posted illicit photos of his underage ex-girlfriend, a Swampscott resident, on the Web site, MySpace.The photos allegedly deplicted the victim performing sexual acts on him and them having intercourse.The victim told authorities that he liked taking photos of them in sexual acts, but he said they were only for his use, but later she discovered them on MySpace and reportedly asked him to remove them from the site.Fuchs was on probation at the time for indecent molestation charges out of Lynn District Court in 2006 when he was 17 years old.William Heil, 30, of Rowley, is charged with stealing by putting in fear concerns the December bank robbery at the Sovereign Bank on Route 114 in Peabody.Juan Torres, 30, of 102 Hollingsworth St., Lynn, charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, second offense, stems from his arrest in Lynn on June 4.Thomas Simpson, 50, of 296 Washington St., Apt. 21, Salem, charged with armed assault with intent to rob and being a habitual offender stems from an incident in Salem on Dec. 14 when he tried to rob a man with a dangerous weapon.Indictments are not an indication of guilt: rather a grand jury found sufficient evidence to warrant a jury trial in Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.
