LYNN – Two teens from Chelsea were arrested and are being questioned in connection with a stabbing that occurred Wednesday outside the annex of Lynn Vocational Technical Institute as classes were letting out.Police say the two suspects assaulted the male victim, whose identity was not released, on the grounds of Lynn Tech at about 2:45 p.m.One of the suspects, a 16-year-old male juvenile, was also injured when he received a minor stab wound to the forehead, according to Lynn police spokesperson Lt. David Brown.Israel Mungia, 17, of 42 Marlboro St. #3, Chelsea and the 16-year-old were arrested in connection to the stabbing, but police have not charged them with assaulting the victim. As of press time, the two were only charged with violating the city’s knife ordinance for being in possession of an illegal knife when questioned by police.”It’s still premature to say that knife was used in the incident,” Brown said late Wednesday afternoon.Police responded to the school after the victim was stabbed and then hit over the head with a blunt object, possibly a glass bottle, Brown said.The victim and the 16-year-old suspect were both treated at local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.Brown would not say if the incident was gang-related but police confirmed the Lynn Police Gang Unit responded to the incident.
