The Tech boys hockey team’s collective spirit is looking considerably higher than it did only a week ago. The Tigers defeated West Roxbury in convincing fashion on Saturday, 8-1.Chris Jones and Jake O’Neil had outstanding performances for the Tigers, with each finishing with a pair of goals.The duo of Cameron Barbieri and Jesse Wilkins combined for a total of six points in the game. Barbieri had a goal and two assists, while Wilkins chipped in with three assists.Russ Quealy, Derek LeBlanc and Dana Kinney were Tech’s other goal-scorers. Kinney also had an assist.However, in perhaps a greater victory for Tech (1-4), Danny Spinucci and Justin Colontuoni will return to the lineup this week.”We have had a real tough start to this season,” Tigers coach Tim Serino said. “But they are two of our better scoring threats.”Peabody 1, Haverhill 0At Haverhill, the Tanners (5-2) took home top honors at the Haverhill Holliday tournament. Sophomore Matt Rodgers was the only player who could figure out Frank DeVitto, who played masterfully by making 37 saves. James Noftle and Elijah Cohen picked up the assists. Jonathan Camara turned away 13 shots for the Tanners.Marblehead 6, Dover-Sherborn 1At Rockett Arena, Eric Fader, Andrew Bates and Jake Kulevich each had a pair of goals for the Headers (3-4). Bates and Fader each also had a pair of assists as well. Two of Marblehead’s goals came while it was shorthanded. Aaron Reny and Tony Cuzner shared time in net, and turned away 11 collective shots.Lynnfield 4, Triton 4At Lynnfield, John Connolly scored a pair of goals for the Pioneers (3-2-2, 2-2-1 CAL). John Lee and Chuck Arakelian were the other Lynnfield goal-scorers. Sam Baker earned a double-double for the Eagles (3-1), with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
