PEABODY-Christmas came early this year for one Peabody resident William Ellinwood, the lucky winner of two tickets to last Sunday?s Patriots game against the Miami Dolphins.Ellinwood was one of countless others who entered the “Win Tedy?s Tickets” contest sponsored by The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts. He heard Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, a spokesperson for the company since his stroke in 2005, announce the chance to win in a radio advertisement.?I went online and entered,” said Ellinwood. “I figured nobody ever wins these things, but I might as well try.”He later admitted to checking the box to receive health insurance information in hopes bettering his chances. In less than a week, he got the call, which Ellinwood said was lucky in itself.Ellinwood should have been well on his way to his company Christmas party, but his wife was running a bit late, so he was stuck waiting around the house. The contest promoters had called three other people, none of whom answered, before dialing Ellinwood?s number. He narrowly escaped being the fourth caller to not pick up their phone. He won two tickets in Section 127, Row 37 – seats that would have easily cost Ellinwood $300, if not more on Craig?s List.?I hadn?t been to the new stadium yet,” said Ellinwood, who last saw the Patriots play in the “Snow Bowl” of 2002. “And I haven?t had seats like that since they stunk.”The 37-year-old is automatically entered to win the grand prize of two 2008 season tickets. He said if he wins, he plans on calling in sick every Sunday there?s a game.
