LYNN-Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the stabbing of a man on Childs Street Tuesday night.Michael O’Donnell, 33, of Lynn was transported to Mass. General Hospital after receiving a stab wound to the chest, police said.O’Donnell was treated and released from the hospital.Police arrived at 44 Childs St. at about 10:25 p.m. and found O’Donnell lying on the floor of the basement apartment, police said.Initial reports indicated that a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and partial mask forced open the apartment door, according to police. At some point, the suspect allegedly lunged at O’Donnell with an object, stabbed him and fled.”Officers on scene received conflicting reports as to what occurred,” said Lynn police spokesperson Lt. David Brown. “It was not believed to be a random act.”The incident is still under investigation.
