LYNN-Police are investigating two weekend shootings, including one that left a city man with life-threatening wounds.Edward Jeffrey, 35, of Lynn, was transported to Mass. General Hospital after being shot several times outside 38 Chatham St. at about 9 p.m. Saturday. He was listed in stable condition on Monday and is expected to survive.According to police, two dark skinned males in their early 20s began firing at Jeffrey as he was sitting on the front porch. Jeffrey sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen and shoulder, police said.Several bullet holes were found lodged in the front door of 38 Chatham St., police added.Police do not think this particular shooting was gang related.However, police say a shooting that occurred a few hours later at 40 Rockaway St. probably is gang related.No one was hurt in that shooting, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.Police say officers were called to Rockaway Street on reports of gunshots and found four spent shell casings on the ground. The LPD Gang Unit is investigating that incident.As of press time, no arrests were made in either shooting.
