SALEM – A Lynn man caught with cocaine and heroin remains held on no bail at the Middleton Jail, after pleading not guilty in n Salem Superior Court Friday morning.Miguel Hernandez, 23, of 48 Haviland St., pleaded not guilty to trafficking over 14 grams of cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute heroin – crimes that will net him at least five years in prison.He was arrested on the afternoon of May 23 on Nahant Street after Lynn police officer Oren Wright stopped him for failing to use a turn signal and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.During an inventory search of the Chevy SUV, police said they seized over 16 grams of cocaine and a small quantity of heroin.His next scheduled court date is Dec. 20 for a pretrial conference.Assistant District Attorney Karen H. Hopwood is assigned to prosecute the case for the commonwealth.
