The St. Mary’s senior girls can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to a 19-0 win over the junior girls in the annual Powder Puff football game Tuesday at Manning Field.Although the juniors put up a good fight, the night belonged to the seniors. Brianna Barker scored two touchdowns, one on a 25-yard run and the other on a 30-yard dash, while Lauren Pohle took one in from 40 yards out. Barker also kicked the extra point on the second touchdown for the 19-0 final.The seniors also came up with a couple of big defensive plays, including an interception by Maria Piperidis and one by Desiree Wycoff. Katelynn Fanning and Mandy Ranahan did a nice job alternating at quarterback and Jackie Kapnis ran the ball well. Although the juniors didn’t put any points on the board, Lauren Edmunds had a nice reception on a ball thrown by quarterback Allison McCarthy.
