REVERE-A Revere postal worker was arrested Wednesday in East Boston after she nearly ran down a detail officer and fought with a second officer who was trying to stop her, Boston police said.Noelle Lacorte, 26, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, failing to stop for police, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.Police said Lacorte nearly ran down the officer at a construction site around 11:45 a.m. as she chatted on her cell phone and smoked a cigarette in one hand and was holding a pen and credit card in the other.A few minutes later, another officer tried to stop her as she headed into Chelsea. When the officer approached the vehicle, Lacorte allegedly punched him in the face through an open window.Police reported a struggle ensued and the officer held Lacorte’s arm with one hand and opened the door with the other until she was placed into custody. Police allegedly found two syringes and small plastic bottles containing an unknown substance, but did not charge her with any narcotics offenses.After her arraignment in court Thursday, Lacorte was ordered held on $1,000 bail. She’s worked for the postal service since 1999.
