LYNN – Police arrested a Revere man for Saturday’s armed robbery at a Market Square convenience store. The incident was one of four armed robberies reported in Lynn since Friday.Joseph M. Gorman, 30, of 134 Bellingham Ave., Revere, was arrested and charged with armed robbery shortly after it occurred around 11:30 p.m.Police say Gorman lingered inside A&A Market for several minutes before approaching the counter. He allegedly reached into his right jacket pocket and made a pointing motion toward the clerk, demanding cash.Gorman allegedly fled the store on foot toward South Common Street with approximately $261 and three packs of Marlboro cigarettes, police said. The money was recovered a short time later when police stopped Gorman walking on Elm Street.Police transported the victim to the location of where Gorman was stopped and positively identified him as the suspect, police said. The money was returned.Police also responded to four calls for armed robberies over the weekend at Fayette and Williams streets around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, on Chatham Street around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, at 37 Beacon Hill Ave. shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday and 498 Essex St. shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday.Three unarmed robberies were also reported this weekend, including one at Domino’s Pizza at 66 Market Square shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.Police did not provide comment on those robberies Monday.
