LYNN – For the 17th consecutive year the Boys & Girls Club will hold its unique steak and burger fundraiser to honor local leaders whose commitment and devotion are a true inspiration to the young people in Lynn.This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club on North Common Street.The Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame will welcome in new members Ted Grant, Tom Iarrobino and Nick Meninno Jr. Additionally, Loretta Cuffe-O’Donnell and Donna Hegan will be presented the annual Commitment to Youth Award.The highlight of the evening will be performances by the members of the club that will include dancing, singing and displays of work.The Steak & Burger Dinner involves companies and individuals purchasing tickets where they sit with selected club members for dinner. The catch is that the kids dined on a steak dinner with all of the trimmings while the adults are served a hearty hamburger.In addition to the dinner, the club will hold a silent auction where participants can bid on numerous items such as a sports memorabilia, sports tickets, gift certificates and much more.The event, underwritten and served by Bob Gaudet and the staff of the Porthole Restaurant, has limited tickets available that can be purchased by contacting the Boys & Girls Club office at 781-593-1772.
