SALEM – Bail for a 41-year-old man charged with a series of credit card fraud and burglary incidents in Saugus and Danvers remains at $25,000 cash, after he pleaded not guilty in Salem Superior Court Wednesday morning.Robert F. Kalin, of 319 Metropolitan Ave., Roslindale, pleaded not guilty to five counts of breaking and entering motor vehicles in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, three counts of credit card fraud and eight counts of larceny over $250.As recommended by the prosecutor and defense, Judge David A. Lowy set the high bail and continued the case to Dec. 3 for a possible bail review and pretrial conference.In the meantime, Kalin remains held at the Middleton Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.The charges stem from an alleged two-month crime-spree beginning last May when he allegedly stole pocketbooks from vehicles and reportedly used the credit cards to purchase various items, including a plasma television, a television and a Playstation from various department stores in Danvers and Saugus.
