LYNN – The city’s youth will march through the streets of downtown Thursday as part of an annual tradition.The Lynn Youth Parade returns in tandem with the monthly Third Thursdays activities from 5-8 p.m. in Central Square.LynnArts, the galleries and studios at 25 Central Square, is coordinating the parade registration. The procession, led by Mayor Edward J. Clancy Jr., steps off at 5 p.m. on Lynn Commons near City Hall and winds its way to Central Square, where plenty of other activities will be ongoing.For more information on how to participate in the event, contact Steve Negron at LynnArts at (781) 598-5244.Raw Art Works (RAW), whose studios are in Central Square, will feature The Camera Obscura, a large, walk-through installation presented by RAW and the Cloud Foundation. Attractions include the North Shore Spirit Pitching Tent and Slugger. According to Negron, visitors to Central Square can contribute to a large communal drawing titled “This is Lynn,” which will be later displayed in the galleries at LynnArts.The entertainment schedule includes a disk jockey spinning tunes and live music by The College Fund Band, as well as face painting and balloon sculptures. The Lynn Museum, which abuts Central Square, will host an exhibition of photos from past Lynn Youth Parades, while the annual juried exhibit entitled “Paint” can be seen at LynnArts.The Lynn Farmers’ Market will also be open during the Third Thursdays event, and nearby businesses such as Flava’z ice cream are hosting special activities.
