BOSTON – Tristan Shelgren won the mile and Nikolas Reardon placed in two events to lead the St. John’s Prep track team to a fourth place finish in the All-State boys track meet, Sunday, at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Shelgren, a junior, finished his event in 4:15.93, ahead of runner up Jack Carleo of Newburyport by .31, in the second of two heats.
Reardon placed second in the high jump with a leap of 6-8. He also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 22-1.
The Eagles tied Brighton for fourth place with 24 points. Newton North won the championship with 34 points.
Lynnfield’s Davide Pittilini took third place in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.68 seconds. Also for the Pioneers, Nicholas Kinnon placed 18th in the 55-meter dash in 6.74. Kinnon was also 18th in the 300 meters with a time of 37.23.
For Peabody, Eric DeMayo placed fifth in the shotput with a throw of 50-1.75, while Patrick Pang of the Tanners placed 16th with a throw of 45-11.25 in the same event.
Also for Peabody, Shane Braz was 12th in the 2-mile in a time of 9:44.57, while Claudio Rocha was 17th in 9:49.46. Joseph Farhat was 10th in the 1,000 meters at 2:34.31.
Marblehead’s Oliver Jacob placed sixth in the 1,000 meters in a time of 2:33. 37. Shawn Carlson of Bishop Fenwick was sixth in the 600 meters in 1:22.54.
For St. Mary’s, James Brumfield placed 17th in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet.
In the girls meet, Michelle Connor of Swampscott tied for third place in the high jump with a leap of 5-4.
Kate Mitchell of Lynnfield placed sixth in the 1,000 meters in 2:59.01.
For Peabody, the 4×400 relay team of Amanda Andrews, Danya Vadala, Emily Nelson and Sophie Anderle placed seventh in a time of 4:04.27. Anderle was 11th in the 1,000 meters in 3:02.40, while Jessica Ostrowski of Peabody was 15th in the 2-mile in a time of 11:32.81.
Gloucester’s Sierra Rudolph tied for sixth in the high jump at 5 feet, 4 inches.
For Beverly, Gracie Sparkman was seventh in the shotput with a throw of 35-6.25 and Tyler Orlandella tied for 18th in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet.
Haley Dennis of Saugus was 15th in the 55-meter dash in 7.49 seconds.
