The English girls soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Revere Thursday at Manning Field.
Cynthia DeLeon scored an early goal on an assist from Emma Trahant to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead, but Revere found the equalizer in the second half. Caitlin Geaney had a chance to give English the 2-1 lead but her shot hit off the crossbar and the contest ended in a tie. English goalkeeper Tommi Hill had five saves.
The Bulldogs will renew their rivalry with Classical on Monday at 6 p.m. at Manning Field.
“That’s the big one,” English coach Ed McNeil said of his team’s next game. “It’s a pretty even game. (Classical) beat Revere 2-1. It’ll be a dogfight, it is every year. They beat us three times last year for the first time in our school’s history. We’re looking for payback.”

It was a tough night for Classical, which lost two key starters, Abbey Ierardi and Kenzie Shea, to injury during the game.
“Those girls, they embody everything about sports in Lynn,” said Rams coach Bob Burns. “They’re two of the toughest kids.”
Despite the loss to one of the strongest teams in the Northeastern Conference, the Rams saw plenty of good performances, especially from sisters Julia and Rachel Jordan, Alaina Gridley, Sydney Spiess and Noemi Escobar.
“It was a tough, physical game, and we really tried hard and played well,” Burns said. “I think we came to understand ourselves a little better during the game, and it will help us going forward.”
Classical will look to bounce back in the rivalry matchup with English.

Peabody goalkeeper Jacob Zeuli finished the contest with 12 saves.
