Edson Alas got the Tigers (5-4-4) off to a quick start with a pair of goals on penalty kicks in the first 15 minutes of the game. Santiago Zuluaga made it 3-0 when he found the back of the net in the 50th minute. Tech’s fourth and final goal of the game was scored by Jose Zacarias.
“We dominated the whole game,” Tech coach Jeremy McKeen said. “It was a beautiful defensive game. It was probably one of our best matches.
“Our starting lineup is finally getting playoff worth,” McKeen added. “The team is finally coming together and hopefully we’ll pace ourselves for the rest of the week.”
Tech hosts Northeast on Tuesday.

GIRLS SOCCER
Fenwick 0, Austin Prep 0
Ashley Baker and Emily Smith turned in solid performances for the Crusaders (6-4-3). Smith, a defender, has been solid all season for Fenwick.
“She helped out our goalkeeper,” Fenwick coach Karen Guillemette said. “She transitions well from defense to offense and really moves the ball well.”
Baker, Fenwick’s goalkeeper, had fives saves in the game.
“She was solid and aggressive,” Guillemette said of Baker. “I thought she had a very good game.”
The Crusaders will look to get a win on Wednesday when they visit Archbishop Williams.
“I think we need to up our intensity level,” Guillemette said. “Williams is a good team, they have some good forwards. We need to play with the intensity level we had in the last 10 minutes today, for all 80 minutes.”
Williams 4, St. Mary’s 2
Morgan Mackey found the net in the 10th minute to give St. Mary’s the early 1-0 lead, but the Spartans couldn’t hold on to get the win. Kayla Demers also scored for the Spartans (6-7). Defensively, Jill Gentile turned in a strong performance for St. Mary’s.
“It’s unfortunate,” St. Mary’s coach Jim Foley said. “We’re in a little bit of a rut right now and our league is tough. It’s not for lack of effort. We just need to get a win to get us going. In our league there are no gimmes.” The Spartans will visit Cardinal Spellman on Wednesday.
