Andrew McGurrin had three goals to lead the Magicians on Thursday against Gloucester

It all went right on Thursday, and the Marblehead boys lacrosse team notched a big win over Gloucester, 14-2, on the road. The Magicians (4-5) won with a strong offensive effort, the scoring spread across their roster. Andrew McGurrin lead his team with three goals. Manning Sears had two goals and two assists, Drew Cioffi recorded two goals and one assist, Luke Anderson tallied two goals and Sam Paquette had one goal and one assist.
Swampscott 14, Salem 12
The Big Blue (6-4) battled with the Witches, ultimately getting the win with help from several players. Andrew Dove had three goals and three assists, Colin Walsh recorded three goals and one assist, Jake Baldwin scored three goals and Emory Wollerscheid tallied one goal and four assists. In addition, Nico Rusk played well defensively for Swampscott.
Beverly 13, Hamilton-Wenham 4
The Panthers locked up a postseason bid early in the season with a dominating win over Hamilton-Wenham on Thursday. Nick DiLuiso led the way for Beverly with five goals in the game. Sam Abate had two goals and two assists, while Keegan Kolbert and Spencer Hunter each notched two goals. Kyle Chouinard had one goal and one assist, and Kevin Flaherty had one goal. Goalie Kevin Morency had 13 saves in the win.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Marblehead 11, Danvers 10
The Magicians almost gave up the lead, but in the end they were able to hold on for a close win over Danvers. Marblehead (8-1, 4-0 NEC) had a 7-3 lead at halftime before Danvers made a second-half run.
Hadley Carlton was the leading scorer on the day for the Magicians, finishing with four goals and four assists. Lydia Bongiorno had three goals and one assist, while Amanda Gregory had one goal and three assists. Lucie Poulin and Grace Arthur added one goal each.
Goalie Brittany Lydon had nine saves in the win.
