The Lynn Jets battled for a close win at Manning Field on Thursday, winning 4-3 over Southeast Regional, grabbing the lead late in the fourth quarter.
It was a back and forth game, with Lynn (2-4) coming back from a 2-1 deficit to take a 3-2 lead. After Southeast tied it again at 3-3, the Jets responded late when Matt Moorehouse scored with four minutes left for the eventual game-winner.
Moorehouse finished the day with two goals, while Jack Stafford, one goal, one assist, and Ryan Clark added the other goals.
Goalie Chris Johnson had seven saves in the win, while Kent Pina, Johnny Sheehan and Brian Clougherty all had great defensive games.
“It was a fun game to watch,” said Lynn coach Peter Pappagianopoulos. “Kids worked from the first minute to the end. I’m proud of all of them.”
Beverly 9, Franklin 6
The Beverly Panthers took down their fellow Panthers in the semifinal round of the Creators Crosse tournament. Sam Traicoff led the Beverly defense, which held a potent Franklin offense to just one goal in the first half. Among the highlights was Jordan Rawding recording the 100th point of his career on a second quarter assist.
Hunter Spencer led the scoring attack with three goals and an assist. Nick DiLuiso scored once and notched two assists, and Matt Rawding and Sam Abate scored two goals each. Keegan Kolbert chipped in with a goal and an assist.
Goalie Kevin Morency made 10 saves.
The Panthers will take on Walpole in the finale of the tournament on Saturday.
St. Mary’s 8, Greater Lowell 2
The Spartans (3-3) dominated the scoreboard to get the win over Greater Lowell. Nick Napolitano led St. Mary’s with three goals, while Alec Matho and Nico Scalli each recorded two goals. Anthony DelVecchio had one goal, while Jason Loeser recorded an assist.
St. John’s Prep 10, Lexington 8
Up 4-2 at the half, the Eagles held on for a tight victory over the Minutemen.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Marblehead 15, Triton 6
The Magicians saw a big output from Hadley Carlton, who led the way with five goals. Lydia Bongiorno had three goals, and Caroline Driscoll scored twice and had two assists, and Niamh Healy logged two goals and an assist. Grace Arthur scored one goal and added two assists, Lucie Poulin had one goal and one assist and Corinne Mayle had one goal.
Marblehead (6-1) also passed the ball well. Amanda Gregory finished with six assists to lead the team. Goalie Brittany Lydon had seven saves in the win.
