The Big Blue golf team took down their Northeastern Conference opponents, Salem and Marblehead, with ease Tuesday, with winners up and down the lineup. Swampscott beat Salem, 47-25, and Marblehead, 44-28. Marblehead topped Salem, 39 1/2-32 1/2.
Andrew Dove won his match against Marblehead, 8 1/2-1/2, and won against Salem, 6 1/2-2 1/2. Jake Goldman won against Salem, 6-3. Adam Dishman won both his matches, 8-1 against Marblehead and 5 1/2-3 1/2 against Salem. Mike Johnson won against Salem, 6-3. Ryan Graciale won both his matches, 6-3 against Marblehead and 5 1/2-3 1/2 against Salem. Max Pegnato topped his Marblehead opponent, 5-4. David Peterson won his match against Marblehead, 5-4, and won against Salem, 7 1/2-1 1/2. Steve Santanello won both of his matches, 5 1/2-3 1/2.
The Witches came up on the losing end of both games in the tri-match with Swampscott and Marblehead at Tedesco Country Club, but Salem did have a few winners in Nick Angeramo (5 1/2-3 1/2) Andrew McRae (5-4) and Cam Twomey (6-3). John Vallou tied his match 4 1/2-4 1/2.
The Witches will play next tomorrow afternoon against Winthrop at Olde Salem Greens.
St. Mary’s 192, Arlington Catholic 156
Max Emmerich led the way with 33 points as the Spartans (9-2) cruised to another Catholic Central League win at Newton Commonwealth Golf Course on Tuesday. Andrew Kreamer put up 31 points for St. Mary’s while Benny Emmerich had 30 points, Luke Smith had 29 points and Kitchy Emmerich had 28 points. Chris Fioravanti and Ryan Turenne each put up 21 points.
Danvers 52, Peabody 20
The Tanners saw a good performance from Andrew Hamel, who won his match, 6-3.
The road does not get any easier for Peabody (1-6), as they take on St. Mary’s at The Meadows this afternoon.
St. John’s 218, Central Cath. 247
At Salem CC, Griffin Chenard and Chris Francoeur led the way with one-under 35s. Also scoring for the 6-1 Eagles were Mark Turner and Cole English (36) and Drew Semons and Jack Sperry (38).
St. John’s is back in action today at George Wright Golf Course against Catholic Memorial.
