LYNN — A teenage couple recalled Sunday how they had asked a woman with a baby for directions. Moments later, they said, they watched in horror as a minivan struck and killed the woman.

“I just kept telling him to get out,” Moises Baez, 18, of Chelsea, said of the driver. “And she was with the baby, who was crying, and we were just like yelling at him to stop.”

I sooooo agree with you! Where is the justice for this family. Was the driver even given some sort of a citation at the VERY least. Where is the Governor when these things happen? These are his people. Swept under the rug. Please print a follow-up story on this incident.

And what's with the headline. "Woman Killed By Minivan"???? The minivan wasn't driving itself. What a poor excuse for journalism.

    three things stand out.
    1. couldn't understand English
    2. he/she was listening to extremely loud music
    3. he repeatedly drove over her as if he had no idea what the bump was.
These things tell me that the person was of low intelligence and was most likely here illegally and most likely is unlicensed. Another illegal kills and will get either deported or released on his own recognizance and disappear. So sad the baby lost a grandma and someone lost a mother.

Seems a lot of important information was censored from this article. Like, what about the killer? Have a photo / mug shot? Was he drunk or high on drugs? Did he do it on purpose? Is he in this country legally, if not why hasn't he been deported? Hey Cyrus, please follow up with some journalistic facts.

There was no mention of whether the driver was arrested after finally stopping.. Can we get a clarification on this?

Money quote: "the driver of the vehicle had trouble understanding English and was listening to very loud music."

How very sad. I really hope this guy wasn't aware that he hit someone because it's sounds an awful lot like a hit-and-run type of reaction. He kept "burning out" on her. That's so terrible. In a parking lot, if you're stuck like that, you get out and look for the obstruction. It wasn't like he was on a muddy/rocky road, he was in a populated area (Lynn has a high population density) on asphalt. RIP grandma. My condolences to the family.
