LYNN — Firefighters responded to a stove fire on Saturday.
Lynn District Fire Chief Michael McBride said the fire at 50 Bay State Road took minutes to extinguish. There were no injuries.
As soon as firefighters arrived, McBride said they opened the oven and put the fire out. He said the second floor residents of the two-story, multi-family home, had something inside the stove and when they turned it on, whatever it was caught fire.
McBride said stove fires are common, are typically minor and are usually accidents. While there no was no damage to the house, the stove must be replaced.
Responding was three fire engines and a ladder truck, McBride said.
