SAUGUS — The town of Saugus is seeking a part-time public health nurse and two Board of Health volunteers.
Nurse candidates should be experienced with flu clinic operation and communicable disease tracking, follow up and investigation.
The ability to work independently and meet deadlines is essential. Strong skills in organization, communication and writing is required.
A Bachelor of Science degree in nursing is preferred for this eight-hour a week position. Nurse Louise Bucchiere recently retired after serving for nearly two decades.
Saugus is also seeking volunteers for the Board of Health. Applicants must attend one monthly meeting and complete a term of one to three years. Interested doctors or nurses, or one who is trained in the medical field, are preferred.
The Board of Health is responsible for the well-being of the community. Members are charged with promulgating regulations, reviewing plans for subdivisions and restaurants, among other establishments, and making key decisions on projects or health issues.
