A Lynn man is heading to court after police say he stole eggs from a 3-year-old girl.
The 35-year-old man, whom police declined to identify, reportedly took four dozen eggs and money from the toddler, who was selling the eggs on a roadside stand in Rowley. The little girl was running the stand with her mother, according to police.
“This is an extremely shameful act exacerbated by the fact that the victim was a child,” Chief Scott Dumas said in a statement. “I am very pleased with the outcome of the investigation and I’m proud of the work done by the officers involved.”
Police served the man a summons for larceny under $250. The theft occurred on July 7, but police weren’t able to identify the suspect until Wednesday.
