LYNN — Last week’s U.S Marshals Fugitive Task Force “Fugitive of the Week” has been arrested in Lynn.
Giovanni Angel Monroe, 35, whose last known address is in Rochester, N.H., was wanted by Strafford County for conditional release violations. He was out on bail for charges including armed robbery, criminal threatening, possession of a dangerous weapon and falsifying evidence when he violated his conditions of release, resulting in the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Monroe was featured on last week’s “Fugitive of the Week,” which aired on cable and news outlets, along with being featured on the Internet. Tips came in which led authorities to a possible location in Lynn.
Early Tuesday morning, members of the task force went to an apartment belonging to one of Monroe’s relatives located on the 500 block of Washington Street. Monroe was arrested without incident. He was turned over to the Lynn Police Department, where he was charged as a fugitive on the outstanding arrest warrants.
The arrest was made through a cooperative effort by members of the task force, in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The agencies included Lynn police, Massachusetts State Police, Stafford and Rockingham County Sheriff’s offices, along with deputy U.S. marshals.
